Aqua-Man’s Tank Cleaning Service has over 15 years of experience cleaning, maintaining, and aquascaping aquariums. Our company has a love for fish. In fact, the owner personally has a Red Sea 116 gallon aquarium. Our favorite freshwater fish are African cichlids, due to their vibrant color.
Our favorite saltwater fish is the Tassel File Fish, due to its unique pattern. We have a passion for aquariums and fish. Our company is eager to serve others and maintain aquarium needs.

Nitrogen Cycle
The "Nitrogen Cycle" includes Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate. Ammonia breaks down to Nitrite and eventually becomes Nitrate. It is critical to do regular water changes to ensure a healthy aquarium.
When maintaining an aquarium (fresh or salt water), the water conditions must be right for the fish. Aqua-Man’s Tank Cleaning Service will test the water before and after the cleaning. Below, you will find a few things we test to ensure a healthy aquarium.
Recommended levels for fresh and brackish water aquariums:
- Ammonia should be 0 ppm for all fish.
- Nitrite should be 0 ppm for all fish.
- GH for community fish should be 4-10 dGH
- GH for Livebearers/Barbs should be 6-15 dGH
- GH for African Cichlids should be 10+ dGH
- KH for community fish should be 3-6 dKH
- KH for Livebearers/Barbs should be 4-15 dKH
- KH for for African Cichlids should be 10+ dKH
- Nitrate for community fish, livebearers/Barbs, and african cichlids should be <20 ppm
- pH for community fish should be 6.8-7.8
- pH for Livebearers/Barbs should be 7.0-8.0
- pH for African Cichlids should be 8.0-9.0
These are the recommended levels for Reef and Fish Only aquariums:
- Ammonia should be 0 ppm for reef and fish only.
- Nitrite should be 0 ppm for reef and fish aquariums.
- Phosphate should be 0 ppm for reef and fish only aquariums.
- pH for reef and fish only should be 8.1-8.4
- Nitrate for reef should be <15-25 ppm
- Nitrate for fish only should be <25 ppm
- KH for reef and fish only should be 8-11 dKH
- Calcium for reef should be 350-450 ppm
- Magnesium for reef should be 1100–1300 ppm
- Salinity for reef and fish only should be 1.024-1.026
